International Student Advising
Lyon College is home to students from around the world. We are proud to include students from Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Ireland, Russia, Rwanda, Serbia, and South Korea. International students at Lyon are vital members of the community that contribute cultural diversity to our campus.
While attending Lyon, Student Life connects international students with families in the Batesville community through a program called Community Friends. Community Friends provide support and encouragement while the student is far from home. An event with a community friend might include a night out watching football, a trip exploring local outdoor attractions, or simply visiting the community friend’s home to bake homemade cookies.
International students get involved in many ways at Lyon. Some are very active on sports teams while others focus on other areas of interest. Lyon has many student organizations on campus. One of these is the International Students Association. Being at a small college allows you to take a leadership role in this group from the time you arrive on campus if that is something that interests you. This group has done a variety of things over the years, depending on students’ interests. Activities can range from getting together for meals to selling something at the Scottish Festival to showing dance moves from your country!
