Purpose: Founded at Dakota Wesleyan College in 1924, Sigma Tau Delta is an international English honor society with over a thousand chapters worldwide. It recognizes undergraduate and graduate students who have achieved distinction in their study of the English language and its literature.
Sigma Tau Delta offers annual awards, scholarships, and opportunities to publish academic or creative work. Lyon College’s founded its Eta Lambda chapter in 1971. Members are English majors and minors who maintain a 3.0 average in upper-level coursework.
The chapter serves the campus by publishing The Wheelbarrow, a literary and art magazine, annually.
