Dr. Danek joined the faculty at Lyon College in 2015. Her training is in the area of Cognitive Psychology, and her research concerns information processing, which roughly defined as how we are able to take in through our senses all of the stimuli in the world (e.g., sights, sounds, smells, tastes, etc.) and integrate this information into an internal representation, which can then be used to decide how we act on our world. Her research interests also include improving student learning, effective teaching techniques, and the effects of video game play. She is the current advisor for the Lyon chapter of Psi Chi.
