Why Attend Lyon College?
Lyon’s strong liberal arts education provides students pursuing health professions with a springboard for success. Due to the interest students have shown in these programs, Lyon appointed a Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee. This committee helps students interested in health professions plan their curriculum as early as possible. The advisors help students determine the admission expectations of different institutions and chart a strategy for application, including “shadowing” health professionals and related experience.
Student Spotlight
“Lyon’s small student-to-teacher ratio allowed me and my fellow classmates to receive the attention and support we otherwise wouldn’t receive in a bigger college,” said Javier Moreno, ’15, a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) candidate attending the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
“My education at Lyon was rigorous, and the professors allowed much of it to be self-driven,” said Lauren Gunderman, ’16, Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) candidate attending the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis. “When I got to dental school, I found that this put me above some of my classmates simply because I knew how to take what we were presented and fill in any gaps.”
