Pi Sigma Alpha
Purpose: Founded in 1920 at the University of Texas in Austin, Pi Sigma Alpha encourages and recognizes superior achievement in the study of government and politics at the undergraduate and graduate level.
With over 700 chapters and over 8,000 students joining its ranks each year, Pi Sigma Alpha is still the only recognized college honor society in its discipline and is now one of the largest constituent members of the Association of College Honor Societies. Lyon established the Alpha Eta Iota chapter in 2011.
Members must have at least junior status, a “B” average in at least 10 credits of political science courses, and an overall GPA rank in the top third of their class.
