Dr. Stuart Hutton joined the Lyon College faculty in 2001. He routinely teaches General Physics (PHY 210 & 220), Fundamentals of Physics (PHY 240 & 250), Physics Lab (PHY 241 & 251), Modern Physics (PHY 335), Electricity and Magnetism (as PHY 382), Independent Research (PHY 321) and Physics seminar (PHY 390) . Dr. Hutton's research emphasis is on experimental condensed matter physics involving magnetism, and dielectric relaxation with application pertinent to renewable energy. He also works on visualization of scientific principles and has presented multiple workshops involving the physics of and use of thermal solar panels in the local community. Dr. Hutton is also the pre-engineering adviser at Lyon College.
Lyon is more than just a college. It's a community distinguished by its academic curriculum, unique honor and social systems, and award-winning professors.
