Dr. Yonts joined the Lyon faculty in 2002. Her areas of scholarship include experimental psychology and child development. Her research interests include positive effects of playing video games; media influences on risk-taking and problematic behaviors; and sensation seeking, risk taking, and rule-following in children. She has served as the division chair for the social sciences and the director of the Nichols International Studies Program, and she helped the Early Childhood Program become nationally recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
