Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) alumni awarded the first Tau Kappa Epsilon Xi Tau Chapter Alumni Book Scholarship to freshman Christian Lemp on Sept. 18.

The scholarship provides Lemp up to $500 in textbook purchases or rental through the Scot Shop to an incoming male freshman. As part of the scholarship application, Lemp, of Shell, Knob, Mo., described how TKE’s values of “sterling character and staunch uprightness” fit in with his approach to life at Lyon College.

“I want to have good character while I am working or dealing with people while representing the College,” Lemp said, “and I want to always know that I have good personal worth. I want to be a loyal person to myself, my work, and my college.”
