The Quapaw Quartet, part of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 23, in the Bevens Music Room in Brown Chapel – Fine Arts building on the Lyon College campus.
Thanks to the generosity of former Lyon president Dan West and his wife, Sidney, who endowed an annual classical music performance, there is no charge to attend.
The program will feature Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue in C minor, Bartok’s String Quartet No. 3, and Dvorak’s String Quartet No. 13 in G Major.
Performers include Meredith Maddox Hicks and Charlotte Crosmer on violin, Ryan Mooney on viola, and David Gerstein on cello.
The Quapaw Quartet provides musical and educational entertainment to thousands of music lovers each year. With a range of performances from school programs to full-length recitals, the group has been an Arkansas treasure for 32 years.
Lyon is more than just a college. It's a community distinguished by its academic curriculum, unique honor and social systems, and award-winning professors.
