Paint the Town Crimson and Navy
Lyon College will kick off Paint the Town Crimson and Navy on Sunday, Oct. 9, through Saturday, Oct. 22, in celebration of ScotsFest and Lyon College’s 150th anniversary celebration.
Local businesses are encouraged to participate in a decorating contest, which includes painting exterior windows, decorating facility interior, and/or creating a cheer, skit, or living outdoor scene to show pride and support for Lyon College.
ScotsFest, which incorporates the 42nd Arkansas Scottish Festival and Lyon College Homecoming, will be celebrated Friday through Monday, Oct. 14-16, on the Lyon College campus. For the complete schedule of activities, visit ARScottishFest.com.
Founders' Week celebrations will begin Monday, Oct. 17, and culminate on Saturday, Oct. 22, with the inauguration of Lyon College's 19th President, Dr. Melissa Taverner, and sesquicentennial gala. For the sesquicentennial schedule, visit lyon.edu/150.
Window judging will take place on Friday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. Winners will be announced at the Lyon College Homecoming Pep Rally on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 12:30 p.m. The Scots will play Texas College in the 2022 homecoming game, beginning at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
