On April 12, Lyon College inducted 26 freshmen into the Lambda Delta chapter of the national freshman honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta, which recognizes early academic achievement. Members must be a first-time, full-time freshman student with a GPA of 3.5 and a ranking in the upper 20% of their class in the fall semester.
Among those inducted are McKinley Fox and Jeffery Phillips of Batesville, Johnathan Brightwell and Michael Humphrey of Cave City, Jordan Webb of Mount Pleasant, Katelyn Platt of Tuckerman, Madison VanGinhoven of Mammoth Spring, Kyle Rose of Clarkridge, Leah Hanson and Emerson Smith of Little Rock, Abigail Grimes of Maumelle, Allison Mundy of Bryant, Addison Harmon of Greenbrier, Lillian Osier of Vilonia, Christen Johnson of El Paso, Miranda Lamb of Clinton, Sabrina Denmon of Mena, Zachary Ward of Russellville, Zoe Dye and Kiara Sims of Rogers, Kristen Towery of Bay, and Riley Young of West Memphis.
Out of state inductees were Dimir Leftwich of Norristown, PA; Adrienne Moran of Edmond, OK; John Pruden of Allen, TX; and Kristyn Skelton of Kennett, MO.
Dr. Melissa Taverner, Provost, presented each student with a certificate, and Dr. Monica Rodriquez gave each the society’s pin. Following the ceremony Mrs. Helen Musgrave and Charlie Gills, ’18, hosted a reception for the new members.
