Lyon initiates 38 Freshmen into Honor Society

The initiation ceremony for Lambda Delta, Lyon College’s freshman honor society, took place on Thursday, April 7, at 4 p.m. in the Bevens Music Room of Brown Chapel. Thirty-eight freshmen students were initiated into the honor society, which was established in 2011 to recognize early academic achievement and identify academic leaders in the College.

In 2012, Lyon’s chapter chartered with the national freshman honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta. Each member must be a first-time, full-time freshman with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a ranking in the upper 20% of his or her class in the fall semester. This year, the mean GPA of the inductees was a 3.85, well exceeding the minimum requirement.
