Alumni and friends of Lyon College will have several events to choose from for Homecoming and Family Weekend this September.
Lyon Homecoming will be held from Friday, Sept. 27, through Sunday, Sept. 29, and the College has a full roster planned for alumni and their families. Click here to register.
“We have an incredibly passionate community of alumni and friends, with a long and rich tradition to celebrate here at Lyon College,” said Vice President for Advancement Dr. David Hutchison.
“We hope our alumni from near and far will ‘come home’ to Batesville and join us for a great weekend!”
The College will honor outstanding alumni Friday at the Alumni Awards Banquet from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Patterson Dining Hall. The All-Alumni Gathering will follow at 9 p.m. in the Elumbaugh Room of the Best Dam Steakhouse.
Current students can explore career options Friday at the Career EXPLO from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Becknell Gymnasium. Alumni are invited to participate as well. This event is the only all-campus career fair and gives students the chance to learn more about opportunities with various employers.
Lyon College Athletics invites visitors to support the Scots Saturday at 5 p.m. at the football game against Texas Wesleyan University at the Pioneer Stadium at Batesville High School.
To fan the flames of school spirit, Lyon will host special events before, during, and after the game. Before the football game, family fun and tailgate parties will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Tailgate Alley and on the Grassy Knoll. The College will open the Game Day Alumni Pavilion from 4 p.m. to halftime during the game, and The Young Alumni Post-Game Party will be held at 9 p.m. on Alphin Plaza.
Homecoming weekend will conclude with the Club 50 Reunion Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. in the Maxfield Room of Edwards Commons.
“There is truly something for everyone this year!” said Director of Alumni Engagement Cindy Barber. “Make plans now to visit professors, renew old friendships, cheer on the Scots, and enjoy family fun during Homecoming and Family Weekend at Lyon.”
