Dr. Daniel Voth will present “Using Human-Derived Systems to Investigate Bacterial Pulmonary Infection” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in Nucor Auditorium at Lyon College.
Voth is the interim chair of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). His laboratory studies the interaction between diverse bacterial pathogens and human lungs to better understand how these pathogens cause life-threatening diseases.
Voth is from Kremlin, Okla. He received his B.S. in biology from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2001. He completed his Ph.D. in research in microbiology at the University of Oklahoma in 2006.
