Lyon College will give back to the Batesville community for its 25th Annual Service Day on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Volunteers from the College will visit several locations across the city to provide help where needed. Lyon values its relationship with the larger Batesville community, and Service Day is an opportunity to return the support the city gives the College.
Lyon faculty, staff, student groups, Greek life, and sports teams will gather at 8:30 a.m. at the steps of the Brown Fine Arts Building to give thanks to the community of Batesville and receive a blessing. There will be coffee, scones, and a moment of fellowship before volunteers gather their supplies and head out to their work sites.
Volunteers will be serving the Batesville and Southside school systems, local assisted living facilities and churches, and the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Batesville.
Alumni are also encouraged to participate. Everyone is encouraged to share their experience on social media with the tag #LyonServes.
The volunteers will conclude the day with a community meal at noon on campus at the Grassy Knoll.
