Gospel choir to present spring concert

The Lyon College Gospel Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 3, in Brown Chapel.

The concert will include guest performances by the United Voices of Praise from Arkansas Tech University, the Gospel Chorale of the University of Arkansas—Little Rock and the Anointed Ones.

The program will feature a variety of songs drawn from the African-American religious tradition, including Percy Gray Jr.'s "Everybody Clap Your Hands" and J. J. Hairston’s “Lord of All.”

Established in the fall semester of 2015, the Lyon College Gospel Choir is a vocal ensemble open to students and community members regardless of their faith. Under the direction of Markeita Williams and the Anointed Ones, the choir is devoted to using its art not only to entertain but also to worship.

The event is free and open to the public.
