Every year, lovers of French language and culture celebrate International Francophonie Day with film screenings, food tastings, and musical events. On Tuesday, March 20, the Lyon College French Club brings the celebration to Batesville.
The Club will host Le Petit Show at 7 p.m. in Bevens Music Room of Brown Chapel. The show will include an array of French music, poetry, film, and painting so that guests can experience a variety of French history and culture. Guests will enjoy light, French-themed refreshments. The performances will include French and English, so even those without any French speaking abilities will love the show!
“This event is our way of bringing France to Batesville, but it’s not just for French speakers and enthusiasts.” Club President Amelia Gayle says, “Anyone who appreciates good music, art, poetry, film, or languages should come as these are the things that bring people together across time, space, and language barriers.”
This event is part of the French Cultures Festival coordinated by the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston, TX. It is free and open to the public.
Lyon is more than just a college. It's a community distinguished by its academic curriculum, unique honor and social systems, and award-winning professors.
