BSA celebrates black history at the Melba

The Lyon College Black Student Association and the UACCB Multicultural Student Association will continue their celebration of Black History Month at 6 p.m. Monday, February 27, at the Melba Theatre.

The event will feature guest speakers, choir performances and a screening of the 2014 historical drama "Selma" at 7:30 p.m. Guest speakers include Terrell Tebbetts, Martha Heasley Cox chair in American Literature; Deborah Frazier, chancellor for UACCB and Willie Strong, member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. 

The Lyon College Gospel Choir, the Mathis Family, the West Baptist Youth Choir, the Anointed Ones, Nick Fudge and Minister Patrick Bean and the Bonafide Worshippers will perform songs for the spirit throughout the celebration. 

The event is open to the public. Movie tickets are $4.
