Arkansas Symphony Quapaw Quartet to perform at Lyon

Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Quapaw Quartet will perform a selection of classical music in the annual West Endowed Concert at 7 p.m. Friday, March 24, in Bevens Music Room.

Founded in 1980, the Quapaw Quartet is Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s resident string quartet. The group provides musical and educational entertainment for thousands of music lovers every year.

The recital will feature Eric Hayward on violin, Meredith Maddox Hicks on violin, Ryan Mooney on viola and Ethan Young on cello.

The Dan C. and Sidney Childs West String Endowment was established by the Wests in May 1981 for the purpose of offering live musical performances or stringed instrument instruction at Lyon College. The West String Endowment has supported free concerts on campus by many fine ensembles. Dan West was president of Lyon College--then Arkansas College--from 1972 to 1988.

The event is free and open to the public.
