Academic Day at Lyon Recognizes Students and Schools

Lyon College hosted its annual Academic Day on March 3, with 130 students from a 13-county region participating in math and science competitions. The Regional ACTM Math Contest was sponsored by the Arkansas Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the winners will go on to compete in the State Contest at the University of Central Arkansas on April 28, 2018. Kristi Price, Academic Day Regional Coordinator, said, “This Academic Day was a successful event because of the dedicated, talented students who made the trip to Lyon College for the sole purpose of competing academically against their peers. It was a full-campus event, supported by Admissions, Student Life, the Math and Science Division, Sodexo, the Scot Shop, and the generous donation of time by Lyon College faculty and staff. We are encouraged by the depth of talent in our region, and we look forward to advancing the math winners on to the statewide ACTM math tests in April.”
