John Beller, president of the Bank of Cave City, will present “As You Live and Breathe: Lyon College as Habit and Home” at Lyon College’s Founders’ Day Convocation at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in the Sloan Auditorium of Brown Chapel.
The Founders’ Day convocation is an annual event to observe and celebrate the College’s founding in 1872.
“We are pleased and privileged to welcome Mr. Beller as our Founders’ Day speaker this year as we resume celebrating this auspicious occasion in person,” said Interim President Melissa Taverner.
She continued, “Honoring our history and heritage is an important part of planning for our future. Mr. Beller’s long-standing connections to Lyon and to our shared community will highlight the importance of our continuing educational legacy to our region and to the state of Arkansas.”
Beller serves as the president and chief executive officer of the Bank of Cave City. He also works with his wife, Ashley, on Brood Farm and coaches the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams at Cave City High School. He is a former Lyon College trustee and a current member of the Board of Visitors.
Lyon will also be announcing this year's Mr. and Ms. Lyon and the winners of the annual freshman Raft Race during the convocation.
The convocation is free and open to the public.
