Mortar Board

Purpose: Mortar Board is a premier national honor society that recognizes college seniors for superior achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service. Every year, the College solicits nominations from faculty and staff for rising seniors who have demonstrated leadership in scholarship, campus life, and service to others.

Lyon's chapter of Mortar Board, the Order of the Tartan, emphasizes its focus on service. Additionally, it aims to positively influence underclassmen in scholarship and leadership through example and service.
