Lyon College’s Division of Math and Science comprises two main areas of study: the natural sciences and quantitative methods and statistics.
Students in the natural sciences learn to investigate and understand themselves, the world, and the universe from a subatomic to a cosmic level. Students have the option of pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry and minors in biology, chemistry, and physics.
Students in mathematics learn to command basic and advanced mathematical concepts and acquire analytical skills essential in understanding and resolving problems in a variety of fields. Mathematics faculty strive to provide a rigorous but flexible program that both challenges intellect and caters to the diverse needs of their students. Students have the option of pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and minors in mathematics and computer science.
