The Morrow Academic Center currently offers both supplemental instruction (SI) and tutoring.
SI is a peer-facilitated academic support program that features regularly scheduled course content review. SI utilizes a non-remedial approach that targets the most difficult courses—those with high rates of D and F grades or course withdrawals.
The tutoring program is a peer-facilitated academic support program that features a unique blend of SI and traditional tutoring methods. Like SI leaders, tutors attend classes and introduce transferrable study skills that apply to course content. However, the tutoring program also provides Lyon College students assistance with homework assignments and is available to those who prefer the one-on-one approach not offered in traditional SI sessions.
Lyon is more than just a college. It's a community distinguished by its academic curriculum, unique honor and social systems, and award-winning professors.
