The International Studies Minor

At a time when intellectual and professional endeavors of all kinds have an increasingly international dimension, the minor in International Studies at Lyon College is a secondary field of specialization that provides an understanding of the global aspects of contemporary problems. The minor will complement and expand the scope of a student’s major in any discipline.

As an interdisciplinary minor, international studies draws upon the disciplines of political science, economics, history, foreign languages, and anthropology. It requires that students participate in an appropriate study abroad program in order to develop an understanding of how nations interrelate culturally, politically, and economically.
