Study in the humanities is an integral part of the human language. The Department of Humanities is dedicated to discovering new—and better understanding old—theories regarding art, literature, language, culture, and art.

Through study in the humanities, students learn to examine the common and shared issues, ideas, and themes that thread through humankind. Humanities courses not only challenge students to think more rigorously, feel more deeply, and serve more efficiently, it also encourages them to enlarge their understanding, sharpen their appreciation, and increase their knowledge of the common threads that run through human culture.
