Graduation Requirements

All candidates for a degree at Lyon College must meet the following academic requirements for graduation:

Credit hours

120 Total Credit Hours Overall

Grade point

Cumulative 2.00 and 2.00 in major

Residency

Two semesters with the last 30 hours taken at Lyon

First-Year common core requirements:

• Year One (COR 100)
• Freshman Composition I & II (ENG 101 & ENG 102)
• College Algebra (MTH 101)
• World Literature (ENG 105)
• The American Experience (POL 105)

Second-Year core requirements:

• Fall: Western Civilization I (HIS 201)
• Spring: Western Civilization II (HIS 202)

Additional core courses from those listed in the catalog:

• One year of a foreign language
• One mathematics course
• One lab science course
• One social science course
• One fine arts course
• One religion/philosophy course
• Two physical education courses

Major Requirements

Completion of the requirements of one of the major fields of study offered by
Lyon College.

Other Graduation Requirements

Candidates for degree must be in good academic and social standing, have
fulfilled all financial obligations to the College, and be present at graduation.
