Professor David Sonnier joined the Lyon faculty in 2001. He has done research in a variety of areas, including parallel programming, optimization, algorithms, and intractability. He serves the local community in a variety of capacities, to include: 

•  Board Member, Torpedoes Booster club
• Member of Advisory Board, Christendom Restoration Society
• Member of Advisory Board for the National Coalition of Clergy and Laity
• Faculty advisor to the College Republicans
