Counseling Center

"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens."

- Carl Jung

A full-time licensed professional counselor provides services in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment at no cost to the student. Numerous books, pamphlets, and local community resources are available through referral by the counselor.  Counseling is offered free of charge to Lyon students. The counseling center is located on the first floor of Edwards Commons.

The mission of the counseling center is to help all students achieve maximum benefit from attending Lyon. Our goal is to assist students in becoming wise, mindful, balanced adults by helping them develop interpersonal, intrapersonal, intellectual, and life management skills. The counseling center strives to help students in assessing themselves, building a sense of self-respect, and establishing a deeper respect for others and nature. It supports each student as they integrate various learning experiences and contemplate their lives holistically, skills that will serve them not only in college but also in life.
