No, the courses for the Jan Term are remote. However, if a student has a compelling need to be on campus for their Jan Term course, they can contact Residence Life and request approval to move onto campus on December 28.

No, visitors will not be allowed to enter residence halls. RLS and Student Life will be available to help students move-in on their designated move-in date.

Yes. Students, faculty and staff will be required to wear masks at all times indoors and outdoors when unable to maintain social distancing, except when employees are alone in personal work spaces, students are in their residence hall rooms, and when eating. Additional protections are being considered, so that faculty will not have to wear masks while teaching.
Yes, commuting students will also be required to participate in intake testing. After being tested, commuters will be asked to quarantine at as much as possible until they are notified of their results. More details on testing for commuters will be provided at a later date.
The COVID-19 taskforce is developing protocol in the event of a campus outbreak. More information will be shared on this before the spring semester.

The College is in constant contact with the NAIA and the American Midwest Conference. While we will not have athletic competition until after December 31, 2020, we are looking into fall and winter athletic opportunities in the spring. As soon as we have more information, we will share this with you.

Lyon College will postpone or alter all events that would otherwise have brought large groups of people on campus during the coming academic year, including events such as the Arkansas Scottish Festival, Homecoming, and Parents’ Weekend. Some large alumni events will be revised as virtual events or held off campus. More details to come from the Alumni Office.
Social Council, Honor Council, and the Student Government Association (SGA) will continue to meet. Clubs and other student organizations will depend on the students involved and their advisors to continue meeting.
No, Lyon cannot safely send students abroad at this time because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many countries are closed to international travel, especially travel from the United States because of the current outbreak of cases.
