Lyon College's approach to learning is a refreshing and unique spin on the age-old college experience. Communications majors will explore and examine a variety of ethical, moral, and logstical situations ranging from theory to real-world examples. Students will focus on the scientific, humanistic, and critical study of human communication in all of its forms.
Including instruction in the theory and practice of interpersonal, group, organizational, professional, and intercultural communicaton; speaking and listening; verbal and noverbal interaction; rhetorical theory and criticism; performance studies; argumentation and persuasion; technologically mediated communication; popular culture; and various contextual applications.
Ways To Get Involved on Campus
Students practice their journalism skills with the college newspaper, The Highlander, usually serving as writers and copy editors. Many students also participate in the College’s literary magazine, The Wheelbarrow. If radio is more your style, tune in to KILT Radio!
