Campus Life

Lyon College is more than just an institution; it's a tight-knit community where people of diverse cultures and nationalities live, work, and play.

Lyon offers a variety of student organizations, activities and co-curriculars, athletics, Greek life, convocations and performances, and educational opportunities to keep the campus thriving. Whether you want to explore local caves with the Cobra Grotto, tackle the 18-hole disc golf course, or something in between, you'll find plenty of new experiences on campus each and every day.

Housing & Dining

Lyon's housing and dining systems emphasize the tight-knight campus community the College fosters. On-campus residential life is designed around small group living, with a live-in faculty member, student resident directors, and resident assistants supervising each residence.

The Patterson Dining Hall in Edwards Commons, Lyon's 44,000-square-foot campus center, serves tasty breakfast, lunch, and dinner options every day.

Student Life

Lyon is committed to promoting the health and well-being of the college community by providing quality health care and educational outreach programs. The Office of Student Life oversees many initiatives, events, and services that make Lyon home to its faculty, staff, and students, including health and wellness, counseling, the Career Development Center, and the Free Store

Outdoor Recreation

Lyon is located in Batesville, Arkansas, a small community that serves as a commercial, medical, and cultural hub for the surrounding region. Nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks, Batesville provides a safe and welcoming setting full of galleries, shops, and restaurants for the College and its students.

Lyon takes advantage of its incredible location with the Lyon Education and Adventure Program (LEAP), which provides students with information and access to outdoor activities in the surrounding area. Activities on campus include a bouldering wall, disc golf course, ropes course, and hiking and biking trails. LEAP also offers trips around the Batesville area as well as to a variety of national and international locations over extended holidays.
