With a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Brian Hunt teaches courses on French language, culture, and civilization at Lyon College. His research, which focuses on twentieth and twenty-first century French literature and cinema, explores the intersections of spatial theory, urban studies, and narrative fiction. He is currently working on a project that examines the ways in which newly constructed museums in Marseille are reshaping an image of France's second largest city. He is also working on a translation of Régis Debray's Eloge des frontiéres (2010). He has studied and taught in France, Belgium, Bulgaria, and Poland, has run several study-abroad programs to Arles, France, and recently led a Nichols trip to Paris and Marseille in the summer of 2016.
When he is not in teaching or meeting with students in Alphin, Dr. Hunt can be found playing basketball; trying to play golf; running (fast); and/or relaxing with his rambunctious child, lazy dog, and loving fiancée.
Lyon is more than just a college. It's a community distinguished by its academic curriculum, unique honor and social systems, and award-winning professors.
