The Lyon College Symphonic Winds will present at evening of international music on Friday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Chapel. The Symphonic Winds, now in its third season under Montgomery Hill and Valerie Hill, is Lyon’s premier wind and percussion ensemble.
The concert will open with the award-winning Brookland High School Band, directed by Terry Hogard. Then the Lyon College Symhponic Winds will perform a concert entitled The Universal Language. Featured musical compositions will take the audience on a journey from the United States of America to Spain, Hungary, Scotland, Ireland, and France. The concert will return home to the U.S. with “The Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa.
A reception featuring international snacks in the Brown Chapel lobby will follow the concert. Admission to both the concert and reception is free.
