Crisman named new vice president of enrollment at Lyon

Matthew Crisman has been named the vice president for enrollment services at Lyon College beginning July 1, 2017.

In his new position, Crisman will oversee enrollment and financial aid initiatives, lead and manage enrollment staff, direct recruitment efforts, manage student financial aid resources and federal student aid funds and develop the standards, policies and procedures governing the enrollment process and the awarding of student financial aid.

“I am delighted that Matt Crisman will be joining us as a colleague and progressive leader,” said President-elect Joey King.

"Matt and I have worked together to develop an enrollment expansion plan at Emory & Henry. We will draw on that experience to develop a plan for enrollment at Lyon that promotes growth while being ever mindful of academic profile and student success."

Crisman and King, together with an integrated marketing team and the vice president for advancement, plan to unite enrollment, advancement and the College as a well-oiled machine going forward.

As interim director of admissions and later dean of admissions and financial aid at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia, Crisman has authored the enrollment documentation needed for Emory’s 10-year SACS reaccreditation; supervised admissions, financial aid and marketing departments; monitored and created enrollment strategies; developed and implemented divisional budgets and implemented new academic and cocurricular scholarship programs.

"I am honored to be given the opportunity to join the administrative team here at Lyon College," Crisman said.

"I've already experienced a community that is ready for coordinated collaboration to ensure a bright future for Lyon. I look forward to being part of its progress."

Crisman also served as the director of first-year admissions for Emory from 2013 to 2014. Under his year of leadership, the Emory admissions team recruited over 300 new first-year students (a 7 percent increase from the previous year).

Crisman received his Bachelor of Applied Arts from McMurry University. He is married to Jill. The couple has two children, Jane Kapri and Sybil Anne.
