Loves me some Trip Shakespeare. I think the Pixies kick. I probably listen to more Beatles than any other single band. I really like Nirvana. The Monkees influenced my own music making. Buddy Holly rules. Vigilantes of Love sound eerily like Yours Truly. Jimi Hendrix. How about them The Who? Better Than Ezra never calls. The Byrds are all important and made me jingle and jangle. Fleetwood Mac from start to finish. Couldn't have made it through the 80s without The Undertones. Eric Johnson may be divinely inspired. Neil Young is definitely divinely inspired.
Consider The 13th Floor Elevators. Wilco does things which move me. Never discount Yes. Listen to The Grateful Dead with a smile. Always..., I mean NEVER leave home without Everclear. Weezer does not disappoint. Got Ben Kweller?
Piping CDs get a lot of attention. My favorite is Debut by Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band. I acquired The Flame of Wrath by the 78th Fraser Highlanders, and Simon Fraser University's "SFU Down Under". Both great band recordings. A recent acquisition was the Donald MacLeod Memorial 2000 competition recording. Great Piobaireachd on there played by Willie McCallum called Field of Gold. Also picked up another volume of the Piping Centre Recitals on a trip to Glasgow and have been listening to the Stuart Liddell performances quite a bit.
