About Chi Beta Phi

Chi Beta
Phi was founded at Randolph-MaconCollege
in 1916 as a national honorary scientific fraternity whose purpose is to
promote interest in science, and to give scholarly attainment in, and outstanding
contributions to, the fields of natural science and mathematics. The Alpha
Rho chapter at LyonCollege
was founded in 1973. Since then over 400 LyonCollege
students have been elected to membership in Chi Beta Phi.
In
order to be a member of Chi Beta Phi students must have completed at least
20 hours in science and mathematics and have at least a 3.0 grade point
average.
