Barton Apartments, completed in 1978, is named in honor of Clark N. Barton who lived from 1905 to 1978.  Barton was a trustee of Lyon College.  Brown Apartments, completed in 1978, is named in honor of Charles W. Brown.

The Barton & Brown Apartments house upperclass students.  Currently, Barton & Brown is home to Lyon's two national sororities, Alpha Xi Delta and Phi Mu, as well as three national fraternities, Kappa Sigma, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and Zeta Beta Tau.

Additionally, the Barton & Brown apartments provide designated housing to student organizations that would like the opportunity for their members to live together.  Designated housing groups such as Amnesty International and most recently, Habitat for Humanity, have made the apartments their home.

Smoking is prohibited in all apartments.  Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am Sunday through Thursday and from 2am to 12pm on Friday and Saturday.  Guests may visit students in their rooms between the hours of 8-2am.  Overnight guests of the opposite gender are not allowed; however, 24 hour visitation is available in apartment living rooms.  For more residence hall policies and procedures click on the Residence Life Policy link to the right.
