United States Piping Foundation Qualifying Contest

In addition to the EUSPBA sanctioned competitions  held on Saturday, April 19 there will be an Open contest on Friday, April 18th which serves as qualifier for the USPF contests to be held in Delaware in June.   The Piobaireachd contest is scheduled to be held in downtown Batesville during the afternoon, and the MSR will be held Friday evening on the terrace of the Lyon Building on campus.

Full details of the USPF Championship will be posted on their Web Site http://www.uspipingfoundation.org which is presently being updated to reflect the new date, final closing date for entries etc.

The 2007 aggregate winner in the Open grade, Jimmy Bell qualified to compete in the USPF. 

The Amateur 1 overall winner from the competitions on Saturday, Nathanael Harvey also receives airfare to the USPF Championship. 

Requirements for the regional qualifier are as follows:

Open Piobaireachd - Submit four tunes of your choice, play one selected by the judge.

Open MSR - Submit four sets of tunes, play one MSR selected by the judge.

There will be no amateur contest for 2008.

Prizes

Open

1st - $500, 2nd - $350, 3rd - $200, 4th - $100 in each event.

Aggregate winner receives a trophy and travel expenses to the USPF.
