Festival Highlights

April 22-24

Music of the Pipes
Thrill to the sound of Scottish Highland Bagpipes.  Pipe bands and individual pipers will be competing or performing throughout the festival.

Highland Dancing
See the Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Irish Jig, Sailor's Hornpipe and more as dancers from across the region compete and perform.

Ozark Crafts & Demonstrations
Traditional Ozark artisans and craftsmen will be on hand to demonstrate and sell their work at the main entrance to the festival, on the south side of Mabee-Simpson Library.

Sheepdog Demonstrations
Watch demonstrations of this remarkable tradition as trained border collies show their stuff, guiding sheep about the glens on whistled commands.

Scottish Sports
Learn to toss the caber and take part in other unique Scottish events, or sit back and watch the fun.

Children's Events
The Festival is for kids, too, with races and activities - including a kids caber toss - where every child gets a ribbon.

Scottish Wares
You'll enjoy browsing in the Scottish booths. Pick out a kilt, a shield, a crest or even a bagpipe.

Scottish Fare
Our Scottish food booths offer a real taste of Scotland. Or choose from a variety of other foods available on the grounds.

Festival Golf Tournament
Ever gone around in a kilt?  Friday is your opportunity to put a little swing in that thing.
Celtic Music

The Boatrights

Saturday Night Cocktail Reception, Feast, & Ceilidh
Traditional Scottish evening fare and entertainment begins with a cocktail reception followed by the Scottish Feast and Ceilidh.  After dinner entertainment will include the above.

Gathering of Scottish Clans
Most Americans don't need to look hard to find a Scottish ancestor. Discuss your heritage with one of the Clan Societies.   Join the Parade of Clans.

The Iona Worship Service
Sunday morning begins with a worship service that has a distinctly Scottish accent.

Bonniest Knees Contest
Sunday events will also include this hilarious showdown, with blindfolded judges identifying the bonniest knees at the Festival.

Rain or Shine
Like festivals in the old country, the Arkansas Scottish Festival will go on--rain or shine.
