The Nichols International Studies Program consists of
courses taught by members of the Lyon faculty that include about two weeks of travel abroad.
These courses are normally offered following the end of
the fall and spring semesters. Travel courses usually have a
3-4 hour prerequisite course, which is offered during
the preceding semester. A
listing of past and pending travel courses can be found
on the web pages noted below.
Students are eligible to participate in Nichols
travel courses following their fifth semester of full-time study at Lyon
College. However, transfer students may participate in Nichols travel courses
after one year of full-time study at Lyon provided they have junior status at
the time of the courses. Students must earn a "C" or better in the
prerequisite courses to participate in Nichols travel
courses. Eligible students will receive a Nichols international
studies grant to cover a portion of course-related expenses. Contact the director of the Nichols International Studies Program
for further information on the availability of travel grants.
Enrollment in a Nichols course requires the prior
approval of the director of the Nichols International Studies Program.
