- WorldCat
is the book
database you will be using for the books we don’t have. Remember, you’ll
see a Lyon College icon
Lyon College beside titles in WorldCat if our library owns it. WorldCat
can’t tell you if it is checked out or not, or what the call number is.
You will have to search for it in the Mabee Simpson Library Catalog to
find that out. If our library doesn’t own the book, follow the links
that say "Borrow this from another library," or "interlibrary loan," or
"see more details for locating this item," and order it from the

- Ebooks
There are about
30,000 ebooks in our collection and these books are completely online
and full text. You can find them on the "Book, Video, and Dvd, or use
the following link: http://www.lyon.edu/webdata/groups/library/books.asp
Scroll down through the list and click on
"Netlibrary" and you can view them. These books are also listed in the
Mabee Simpson Library Catalog. When you see one listed it will have
[computer file] next to the title. Click on the URL and follow the links
into the book.
Journal Databases

Full Text This is full text. Click on this
icon and you should get the entire article.
PDF
Full Text This is also a full text file. Click
on it to get a full text article. Beware, they take time to load and
what may appear as a "frozen" monitor, may actually be a loading PDF
file. It depends on the speed of your computer.
Search
for Article
The 360 link is very important.
Follow this link to
get to full text that may be in another database that we own.
Fill
out an ILL form for this article
This is a link to a form that you fill out to get an interlibrary loan
article.
Example of citations that contains full text. In the examples below notice
that you have
HTML
and
PDF full text files. Click either one and you have the full text article at
hand. If you don’t see these, you have to search the 360 link, if that doesn’t
lead you to the article, then order from the Interlibrary loan department.
Do We Own This Journal?
- Full Text electronic or paper journals
This link is for searching a
journal title and seeing if we have it. For instance, I typed in Journal
of Econometrics and I got the following. This tells me that we have this
journal in print from 1955 to now and that if I follow the links I can
search for articles in: ScienceDirect.
Newspapers
LexisNexis has global newspapers as well as
federal and state laws and court cases. They also have a tab called business
which allows one to search for company dossiers.
The Web
The web links listed may be
helpful to your research. Always check with your professor before
using web pages.
