Change of Degree or Major

A student should have his or her major field of study correctly reflected on his or her most current Form I-20, as it will have implications for eligibility for Practical Training.  The student must apply for the change of major in advance of the current program completion date on the I-20 with the Registrar based on procedures found in the Advising Handbook.

If, by changing majors, a student will need more time to complete his or her program than originally estimated, the procedures for Program Extension should be followed instead.
