On-Campus Employment (8 C.F.R. § 214.2(f)(9)(i))

F-1 students are permitted to work part-time on the premises of the school that issued their currently valid I-20 ID, while they are attending that school and maintaining their F-1 status.

bulletINS or DSO approval is not required.
bulletWork occurs "on campus" but can be with an on-location commercial firm providing service for students on campus.  On-campus employment can also be at an off-campus location educationally affiliated with the school.
bullet20 hours per week limit while school is in session; can be full-time during official school breaks.  All on-campus work is treated the same for the 20 hour per week limit, e.g., if you have two or more jobs on-campus the total number of hours worked per week cannot exceed 20 hours.
bullet Employment must not displace a U.S. resident.
bulletEligibility for on-campus work expires after completing a course of study, except authorized practical training.
