Welcome to the Business Program Website:

I am pleased to learn of your interest in the Business Program at Lyon College. We have developed a program of study which we believe to be one of the finest. Students who come to Lyon begin their undergraduate years by developing a solid foundation based upon the Liberal Arts. Consequently, you will spend much of your first two years engaged in the study of proficiency courses, such as, mathematics, English and foreign languages. You will also have the opportunity to explore a variety of life-enriching courses as well as introductory business courses.

Having developed the necessary foundation of knowledge and skills, you are then prepared to pursue the business majors offered at Lyon: accounting, business administration and economics. A major in accounting will prepare you for an array of career opportunities in public and corporate accounting. An economics major will prepare you for a variety of career opportunities in investments, state and government agencies, and academia. A major in business administration will prepare you for an array of career opportunities in human resource management, international business, marketing, finance, or information systems.

At Lyon College our distinctive strength is our community of people, our accomplished faculty members, our exceptionally bright students, and our dedicated professional staff members. An example of our outstanding staff is found in our career development office. The capable professionals in this office actively assist Lyon students in finding internships, exploring career opportunities, and preparing for graduate and professional admissions.

When you visit our beautiful campus, please come by my office for a visit. Should you have any questions regarding our program or Lyon College in general, please feel free to call me at (870) 698-4325 or e-mail me at "ccreighton@lyon.edu". I look forward to seeing you.
