Pipers Lend a Helping Hand

The Lyon Volleyball team practiced their serve Wednesday as they volunteered at the Independence County Humane Society. The ladies put down the knee pads and volleyballs and picked up scrub brushes and squeegees. As a part of the Annual Lyon College Service Day, Lyon Volleyball chose to help out the Humane Society. The ladies started the day by bathing the puppies and cleaning their pens. The girls fell in love with the puppies from the moment they got out of the tub.

Although the ladies found out it wasn’t all about playing with the puppies as they scrubbed each one of the stalls and squeegeed them dry. Alyson (above right) also picked up a mop and cleaned up one of the kittens play rooms.
All in all, the ladies gave back to the community that has given so much to Lyon College and Lyon Volleyball. It was a great way to work together to give of their time to serve.
