Pipers open up conference undefeated

(September 25, 2004) Batesville, AR- The Lyon College Volleyball Team opened up their Transouth conference play this weekend with two decisive wins over Cumberland University, 3-1 (30-24, 28-30, 30-22, 30-26), and Trevecca Nazerene, 3-0 (30-26, 30-20, 30-23).  Leading the way for the Pipers throughout the weekend was Junior Libero Susie Harper who amassed 62 digs in the two matches.  Senior Ceca Brckalo had 30 kills on the weekend and Senior Yllen Rosales had 56 assists on the weekend.

“It is a great open to our conference season”, stated Coach Dee.  “It sets us in a tie with Union on the road on Tuesday.  The ladies never looked back and came out with the intent to win.”

The ladies are now in a tie for first place in the conference.  They will travel to #23 Union University on Tuesday night looking to break the tie on the top of the TranSouth.
