Jeremy Brown of Lonoke High School Signs With Lyon College

The Lyon College Scots Men’s Basketball team has signed Jeremy Brown, a 5’10 guard from Lonoke High School.  Brown prepped at Lonoke under Coach Wes Swift.  Swift says “Jeremy is a very good defender and shooter.  He should also be a great leader because he was the starting quarterback for the football team the last three seasons.”  Jeremy helped lead the Jackrabbits to an 18-14 record and into the quarterfinals of the Class AAA State Tournament.  Jeremy led his team to the quarterfinals of the AAA State Tournament for four straight seasons.  During his senior season, Brown averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game.  Jeremy was also named all-conference, all-region, all-state, Arkansas Democrat Gazette All-Academic team, and Arkansas Prep Hoops All-Arkansas team.

“Jeremy will be a tremendous addition to the Scots basketball team.  He runs the floor very well, plays aggressive defense, and is a natural scorer.  I am very excited that Jeremy will be joining the Scot family next year,” stated Scots Head Coach Kevin Jenkins.  “He has been a team leader four years on very good Lonoke team and should be able to come in and contribute early because of his ability.  We feel that Jeremy will be a great asset to the Lyon College community.”
