Scots Sign Craig Amos of Conway High School

The Lyon College Scots Men’s Basketball team has signed Craig Amos, a 6’8 post player from Conway High School.  Amos prepped at Conway under Coach James Bates.  Bates says “Craig made tremendous strides this year.  He became our 1st and 2nd option on offense midway through the season.  Lyon is getting a quality player and student.”  Craig helped lead the Wampus Cats to a 16-10 record and into the first round of the Class AAAAA State Tournament.  During his senior season, Amos averaged 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game while connecting on 55% of his field goals and 70% of his free throws.  Craig was also named all-conference and an Honor Graduate.

“Craig will bring to the Scots a true 4-5 type player.  He runs the floor very well and has a nice touch out to 15 feet.  I am very excited that Craig will be joining the Scot family next year,” stated Scots Head Coach Kevin Jenkins.  “He has played four years in the very tough AAAAA-Central conference and should be able to come in and contribute early because of his ability.  We feel that Craig will be a great asset to the Lyon College community.”
