Derek Nichols* Head Coach

Coach Nichols is entering his second season as Lyon College's Women's Soccer coach. He also is the assistant men's soccer coach at Lyon. Previously he served as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and as an assistant coach for the men's and women's soccer teams at Hendrix College. He is also a staff coach for the Arkansas State Soccer Association. Coach Nichols is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas and received his master's degree in May of 2003 , also from UCA. In his last year at UCA, the men's team won the Gulf South conference championship and conference tournament.  UCA advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four losing to eventual national champion Sonoma State in double overtime. UCA finished the season ranked #3 in the country.  Derek's wife, Jessica, works at Regions Bank of Batesville.

Coach Bishop is also Lyon College's  Men's Soccer coach. Previously he served as head women's coach and assistant men's coach at Barton County Community College. Prior to that he was an assistant in the men's and women's programs at the University of Central Arkansas and spent time as the head soccer coach at Central Arkansas Christian High School. Coach Bishop is a 1997 graduate of Harding University and received his master's degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 2000. While at Harding he played both football and soccer. His wife Elizabeth, is a registered nurse at White River Medical Center.
